The story of the annual pilgrimage

For many years we have been wanting, with God's help, to host an annual pilgrimage to the monastery, where Orthodox Christians from Atlantic Canada could pray together, and where we could sing the praises of our Protectress of the monastery, the Mother of God.  But this was difficult to do for several reasons.  Primarily, it was difficult to host a pilgrimage on our patronal feast day of the Annunciation (Mar 25/Apr 7), in early spring, in the middle of Lent.

We had to do some creative calendar work...

It is then that we came up with the idea to host, on an annual basis, a pilgrimage as close as we can to the feast of the birth of our Protectress, the Mother of God (Sept 8/ Sept 21).  With this solution, we had our first pilgrimage in 2025. With the help of the many faithful friends of the monastery, especially the Sisterhood of Martha and Mary, who are the strength and organization behind the pilgrimage events, we now have, God willing, an annual pilgrimage date for our monastery for years to come.

To Thee, the champion leader, do we Thy servants dedicate a hymn of victory and thanksgiving, as ones who have been delivered from eternal death by the Grace of Christ our God Who was born of Thee.
